1. A Fantastic Main Event

Even though he lost, Jey Uso earned his nickname Monday night delivering in the Raw main event.

Uso took Seth Rollins to his limit in a World Heavyweight Championship defense, with the two trading holds, kicks, signature spots and finishers. Fans were behind both men, but they clearly wanted to see a title change, with the audience biting on every near-fall for Jey.

But it was not to be Uso’s night, as he failed to put Rollins away with his best shots, including a spear-splash combo. Rollins, however, vanquished Jey by countering a spear with a Pedigree and quickly finishing with a stomp.

Interestingly, WWE subverted fans’ expectations by not having Drew McIntyre’s attack impact the match and instead came afterward. Everyone knew the moment Rollins told Drew that Jey was getting the title shot that McIntyre would be coming for Uso this week. But rather than interfering and costing Jey the match, Drew demolished Uso after the bell.

A solid title defense like this, with no interference and PLE-quality action, is the sort of thing the title has needed this entire run, as it adds some prestige to the championship with wrestlers going all-out to try to win it.
