We all know the definition of insanity to be doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, in which case Pet Sematary's Louis Creed (Dale Midkiff) is totally out of his damn mind.

You can perhaps forgive Louis for attempting to resurrect the family's recently deceased cat by burying it in the nearby pet cemetery, but given that said kitty returns as a mere putrid shadow of its former self, that's probably evidence enough that this fate should never be afforded to humans.

Nevertheless, once his son Gage (Miko Hughes) is killed by a truck, a grief-stricken Louis decides to use the cemetery once more, and of course, Gage only returns as a murderous hellion, who ends up killing Louis' wife Rachel (Denise Crosby).

Yet having not learned his lesson from the two prior "experiments," Louis surmises that he merely waited too long to bury his son in the cemetery, but by immediately burying his freshly dead wife, she'd come back right.

Alas, she doesn't, and in the film's final scene, a half-decomposed Rachel returns to the family home where she grabs a knife and murders her hubby, effectively putting the grief-wracked sap out of his stupid misery.
