WWE Unveils NFL Title Belts, But One Quickly Disappears
Put away your conspiracy theories for this one, there's actually a decent reason.
Fans who watch various different sports have undoubtedly seen teams that win their league's championship hoisting not only their sport's trophy, but a custom WWE title belt, complete with the team's logo on the side plates.
The image has become commonplace after the National Football League's Super Bowl, so WWE and the NFL took the opportunity to make their relationship a bit more official Monday, announcing a "multi-year licensing deal to create NFL-inspired WWE legacy title belts" for all 32 football teams. This marks the first time the two entities have entered a licensing agreement.
The titles were available for sale on Monday on the NFL and WWE's websites. But within hours, one team's belt was gone from the list and no longer available on WWEshop.com: the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars are owned by the Khan family, and Tony Khan owns AEW.
Was this a conspiracy to remove the title of a team owned by a rival wrestling promotion? Hardly, according to Fanatics, which is also selling that championships.
Hey there! Those sold faster than we could have ever imagined! I would keep your eyes peeled for a restock in the next few days! #DUUUUUUUVAL 💙 -Marissa

By Monday night, two more teams' title belts were removed from all three sites, indicating that they also had sold out.
Still, you can't blame fans for giving this the side-eye that the first team whose title sold out and was pulled off WWE's site was Jacksonville.
