WWE Raw Superstar To Be Traded To SmackDown As Compensation For Jey Uso

There's already a favorite for who could be sent over to the blue brand.

WWE Raw scored a huge coup at Payback when it was announced that Jey Uso, who "walked out of WWE" last month returned as a member of the red brand's roster.

Uso made his first appearance on Raw Monday night, making amends with former Bloodline compatriot Sami Zayn, and realizing that he's made plenty of enemies during his days under Roman Reigns' direction.

Main Event Jey -- and fans -- found out later in the night that as a result of Raw gaining the former multi-time tag champion, SmackDown would get a compensation trade from the red brand. WWE official Adam Pearce told Jey that the decision might not make people happy.

Almost immediately, the speculation began that the superstar in question would be the man who brought Jey to Raw: Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare announced the acquisition at Payback, saying he cashed in every favor he had to make it happen. It would seem logical that he also made sure he was sent over to SmackDown so he could pursue his goal of "finishing the story" and defeating Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

However, that also would be a pretty simple solution to a problem that essentially needs to stretch out for another seven months (or at least four-plus months until the Royal Rumble). It would almost feel too easy. Rhodes was announced as being on Raw next week, so there's a chance he's not the person being sent over as compensation.
