WWE Legend Says Goldberg Shouldn't Book His Own Retirement Tour

Eric Bischoff isn't so sure it's a good idea for Bill Goldberg to book his own four-date retirement tour outside WWE.

The ex-WCW boss, who was a major influence behind Goldberg's sensational late-1990s explosion, told listeners tuning into his '83 Weeks' podcast that he doesn't "want to see a lesser version of" Bill work some shows. In fact, Bisch isn't certain they'd be successful anyway, and encouraged Goldberg to get "a lot of money upfront".

Eric noted that Bill's concern should be his legacy in the pro wrestling industry. Goldberg was not some huge fan who worked the independent scene before reaping the rewards on a national stage. He burst onto WCW's roster suddenly in the late-90s, and Bischoff thinks it's important that Bill is "remembered for being at [his] peak" rather than as an older tribute act who can't do what fans expect.

Co-host Conrad Thompson also pointed out that Goldberg was previously critical of Hulk Hogan's Australian tour with Ric Flair back in 2009. Bill said he wouldn't be appearing on those cards because 'the old man wants all of the money for himself'.

Bischoff thinks we've come full circle, but doesn't want to see Goldberg embarrass himself.
