One of perhaps the most highly anticipated albums of the year after their universally acclaimed debut album
xx reached the heady heights of platinum record sales, critical acclaim, awards nominations, awards victories and extensive adoption of the tracks in the media, way back in 2009. They've laid pretty low since then besides touring the album, a couple of art installations and the rise and rise of Jamie Smith (
Jamie xx). Not ones to succumb to the sophomore slump the band have uploaded their new album
