The xx Stream New Album Coexist Ahead of Release

The xx have uploaded their hotly anticipated second album for full stream - one week ahead of release.

One of perhaps the most highly anticipated albums of the year after their universally acclaimed debut album xx reached the heady heights of platinum record sales, critical acclaim, awards nominations, awards victories and extensive adoption of the tracks in the media, way back in 2009. They've laid pretty low since then besides touring the album, a couple of art installations and the rise and rise of Jamie Smith (Jamie xx). Not ones to succumb to the sophomore slump the band have uploaded their new album Coexist online for full (and free) streaming a week ahead of the album's official release date - September 10th. Likely to send the already rapidly building hysteria around the album into overdrive ahead of schedule. Head on over to NPR to have a listen to the album track by track or straight through. Why not have a look over our (my) review of the new album whilst you do so as well, see if you don't agree or disagree. There's also a link to the stream at the bottom of the review too.
