Even though it's always tempting to just chase around the ball in Rocket League, blindly boosting after it every time it's hit to another end of the arena, sometimes pulling back and moving into space is a much better idea. Because sometimes, even if you chase the ball from end to end there'll be nothing for you to do once you finally reach it except knock it a few feet around you, causing no significant benefit for your team. Instead, if you find some space the next time the ball rockets up to the other end of the pitch you can be in a better position to catch the rebound. The best players aren't the ones who get stuck into every single skirmish, but the ones who know when they simply won't be able to catch a ball if its in a tricky position and instead wait for the perfect time to strike. If you've ever played online, you'll notice the highest goal-scorers aren't the players you see jumping into the ball every single time it's in the air. Instead, they'll be the ones who'll seemingly come out of nowhere to score a spectacular goal off the rebound. Although it might be hard at first, showing a little patience and not feeling the need to be at the centre of each scuffle will mean you have a much better chance of actually doing something productive and epic in Rocket League.
