Ric Flair Expected To Induct THIS Legend Into WWE Hall Of Fame 2023
The Nature Boy looks set to induct this icon into the WWE Hall of Fame.
With the Great Muta heavily rumoured to be part of the WWE Hall of Fame's 2023 class, it now appears that the legendary performer will be inducted by Ric Flair.
Flair is due to appear on WWE's The Bump tomorrow to reveal the next Hall of Fame inductee, and Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that this inductee is indeed expected to be the Great Muta.
Not just is Muta expected to be announced for the WWE HOF tomorrow, but it's likewise believed that the Nature Boy will be the one who'll be inducting the Pearl of the Orient.
As Meltzer explained, the most logical choice to induct the Great Muta - due to their battles and friendship over the decades - would be his brother in paint, Sting. Clearly, that's quite the tough ask nowadays, considering that the Stinger is contracted to AEW. This latest edition of WOR reiterated that Keiji Muto has been asked to be in this year's WWE Hall of Fame, and that Ric Flair has asked to induct him.
Of course, Keiji Muto is the man behind the Great Muta character. Throughout a 39-year- career which came to an end last month, Muto famously competed under the face-painted Muta moniker, and also as the paintless Keiji Muto. Seemingly, Muto may well be inducted under his Great Muta gimmick, similar to how Scott Hall was inducted as Razor Ramon in 2014; though Hall would later get a second induction under his own name as part of the nWo.
A true revolutionary and game-changer of the wrestling business, Muto had major success in the likes of NJPW, All Japan Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH, Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW, Championship Wrestling from Florida, and Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council. Those years saw the icon pick up countless accolades and prizes, most notably four reigns with the IWGP Heavyweight Title, three reigns with the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, and one reign as the GHC Heavyweight Champion.
So far, only Rey Mysterio has been announced for this year's WWE Hall of Fame. Along with the Great Muta, Batista and Stacy Keibler are other names who have been rumoured to be joining the 2023 class.
