3. Arrivederci, Milano!

A new edition of PES, a new licensing conundrum, and this year’s offer from Konami sees the expiration of licenses with both AC Milan and Inter Milan.

This, unfortunately, tends to be par for the course when it comes to the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, due to limited funds and EA’s stranglehold on the licensing market, but this particular ‘L’ is one that brings with it a one-two punch.

Normally, licensing issues are easily solvable thanks to the incredible online community of PES Option File creators; they work tirelessly to deliver downloadable packs that correct all missing kits, team names, emblems etc. but sadly when it comes to console versions of the game, there’s nothing they can do to replace missing stadiums.

While Milano RN & Lombardia NA can easily be converted back to AC Milan & Inter Milan via option file when the time comes, their licensing loss means there will be no version of the historic San Siro/Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in eFootball PES 2021.
