Major AEW Name Shockingly FIRED!
AEW makes huge, huge change at the very top of the company.
AEW has made a major change towards the top of the promotion, firing its Vice President of Post Production, Kevin Sullivan.
As reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, Sullivan was let go by the Tony Khan-helmed promotion, though Senior Vice President and co-Executive Producer Mike Mansury made the call.
Sullivan was a day-one AEW employee, having played a prominent role in the company's production department since day one. Meltzer writes that he was "very highly thought of within the promotion", having joined AEW from IMPACT Wrestling.
Major questions are seemingly being asked about the situation, as Sullivan was responsible for putting together AEW's entire post-production team, based in Nashville, Tennessee. Currently, there is no word on what happened to prompt Sullivan's sacking.
Before AEW, Sullivan had been with IMPACT for 14 years.
IMPACT ring announcer David Penzer has tweeted that Sullivan's departure shouldn't affect AEW's live television production, as the Nashville team was largely responsible for editing Rampage and other pretaped content:
Just a point of clarity. Kevin is VP of POST Production which means he runs the studio in Nashville that edits Rampage, does packages for TV/PPV's, promo ad's etc. Those who think their live production is lacking, this move wouldn't change anything in that regard. FYI...
AEW had not publically acknowledged Sullivan's departure at the time of writing.
