Independent wrestlers Vik Dalishus and Hale Collins have sent "cease and desist" letters to WWE about Austin Theory, and the pair (who have shown up on NWA programming) are prepared to file a lawsuit if the company don't stop referring to Theory as "The Now".

For reference, that is the tag-team name Vik and Hale use collectively elsewhere. The former claimed during a chat with the Hudson Valley Post that he and his partner have owned copyright on that moniker since 2006, and they're prepared to fight for it if need be.

The duo are also confused, because several WWE staffers know who they are and what they call themselves on the indy scene. They also know that the tandem own copyright. So, Dalishus is baffled that Triple H's creative team didn't just pick something else for Austin - Theory has started calling himself "The Now" on Raw recently.

It'll be interesting to see if WWE quietly acknowledges this by dropping Theory's new nickname during the build towards his upcoming WrestleMania 39 clash vs. John Cena. "The Now" is catchy, but it's owned by someone else.
