Former UFC Champion Teases AEW Pay-Per-View Match
'Triple C' to cross over into professional wrestling?
Retired UFC star Henry Cejudo could be in talks to work an All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view sometime in the future.
This is according to the man himself. He told YouTube channel Adam's Apple that he'd been in talks with the promotion over a future PPV appearance, though no further details were offered.
Cejudo has already appeared for the promotion, featuring alongside other former UFC champions Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort as part of Mike Tyson's entourage for his confrontation with Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle.
One of the UFC's more colourful characters in recent years, Cejudo moving into professional wrestling should be made possible by his recent decision to retire from mixed martial arts. Cejudo, 33, announced he was stepping away after defeating Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 on 9 May, vacating the Bantamweight Championship in the process. He has since stated that he would be willing to come out of retirement to face Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski, announcing his desire to win his third belt in a different weight class.
At 5'4", 135lbs, 'Triple C' would be a small competitor, even by AEW's standards. Nonetheless, his fighting credentials are undeniable.
