CM Punk Questions BANNED At WWE Press Conference
More speculation to fuel the "CM Punk to WWE" fires.
WWE forbid wrestling media members from asking questions about CM Punk at this weekend's post-Fastlane 2023 press scrum.
Punk's seemingly imminent WWE return is the talk of the sport at the moment, with the 44-year-old Chicagoan seemingly on his way back to the promotion he left acrimoniously in 2014, when he was infamously fired on his wedding day.
That the Chicagoan's name didn't come up during the media scrum raised eyebrows, given it represents an opportunity to ask clear, direct questions to several WWE figures, including Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque. Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp addressed this on X, stating that media were told not to ask about Punk:

The Punk/WWE speculation intensified last week. On Friday, Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that although nothing had been finalised, Punk and WWE had been in talks, with the former AEW World Champion indicating that he intends to re-sign there. Later, one of Haus of Wrestling's sources indicated that it was a "safe bet" Punk will be at the Survivor Series 2023 premium live event in Chicago, IL on 25 November.
AEW released Punk with cause on 2 September, doing so after a reported backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In the week prior.
