8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (November 29 - Results & Review)

1. Adam Copeland And Christian Cage Do It Like Old Pros

Adam Copeland Christian Cage
AEW

Christian Cage and Adam Copeland came face-to-face in a fantastic verbal segment that subverted their first AEW interaction magnificently.

When Adam Copeland first appeared on Dynamite, he pleaded with Christian Cage to remember who he once was. He once idolised Sting, and now he was trying to break his neck. Copeland urged Christian to team with him, return to his old self, and stop being "even more of a d*ck" than usual.

Now that Cage has ran out of road, and Copeland has taken out his stable, he said the exact same thing to Copeland. This was such great heel work. In the last refuge of the scoundrel, Cage mentioned that he was Copeland's brother all those years ago in the absence of a father figure. In two great bits of mirroring, Cage, operating out of pure desperate cowardice, almost verbatim asked Copeland what Copeland had asked of him back in October. Let's be friends. Let's reform the tag team.

In the second great bit of mirroring, Copeland saw through the rat and told Cage to go f*ck himself. After some not great developments - the idea that nobody on the AEW staff gave a sh*t about Nick Wayne's mother last week, Copeland going to the dreaded "that place" on Collision - this was very elegant storytelling from two old masters.
