When you're specifically picked out as an absolute rotter from a game completely full of them, you know that Chef Saltbaker is the real deal.

It takes a lot to stand out from the pack in Cuphead, especially when bringing up any of the other bosses is likely to elicit a chorus of groans and moans from the audience, but here this absolute brick-s**t house of a baker can pie you off in seconds if you're not careful.

What makes this boss such a nasty pasty to deal with is that his attacks are so well animated you might actually not focus at the battle in hand. I kid you not when I say that animation-wise this is by far and away the best that Cuphead has to offer, as he chops and dices ingredients, waltzes through a snowy salty wonderland, or looms over you in such impressive detail that it's downright distracting.

Of course the difficulty matches the beauty of the art to create an utter disaster-piece for the player and you'll get your butt kneaded by Saltbaker over and over thanks to his multiple stages of pure delicious pain.

So the next time people posit what the hardest boss in Cuphead is you can laugh at suggestions of Grimm Matchstick, and scoff at Dr. Kahl's robot, hell you can even sack off the Devil, because you know what? Even he couldn't handle the heat of Chef Saltbaker and so got out the bloomin' kitchen.
