1. WALL-E
WALL-E is not only the sci-fi film of the century so far, but it might one of the most beautifully made films, in every aspect, that Hollywood has ever turned out. I have watched this movie more than ten times since it came out in 2008, and the only flaws I ever find are so inconsequential that they don't affect the overall quality one bit. It's a darn near perfect mix of everything you would want in a movie: breathtaking visuals, a simple but perfectly executed story, a completely lovable main character, and it even manages to throw in some interesting criticisms of modern society as well. WALL-E is a rarity for a Hollywood movie, particularly for the last decade, in that it managed to be both an artistic accomplishment of the highest order, and a massive box office success. It remains the pinnacle of Pixar Animation Studios, American animated filmmaking, and sci-fi filmmaking in the 21st century and maybe the closest thing to a flawless movie in many, many years.
