2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 1 - Results & Review)
1. Multiple Stories = Welcome
The women's trios match was perfectly fine. It moved along at a nice pace without being breakneck like the men's matches, and there was a neat flow to everything. Plus, and this is super-important, the showdown actually had multiple stories to tell throughout too.
Those story beats were welcome.
Ruby Soho continued p*ssing off Outcasts leader Saraya (and hated on Anna Jay into the bargain), and there was similar tension between Kris Statlander and Skye Blue following events at Full Gear. Technically, Skye lost the TBS Title on Statlander's behalf, and the former champ wasn't happy about it.
Hikaru Shida tried to keep both on the same page, then muscled them out of the way to try take matters into her own hands. You've got to admire matches that lean on story more than spots, spots, spots for the sake of spots, spots, spots.
