15 Comic Covers You Won't Believe Were Allowed To Exist

1. Marville #6

What you're looking at is not a hoax, a dream, nor a copyright-infringing fan work - this is for real! Marville is in top running for the worst comic that Marvel has ever published, and the covers certainly didn't help the cause of this half-baked, mainly offensive and unfunny "satire" of superhero books that was written by then-head honcho Bill Jemas for a bet. A bet which, whoever won, readers certainly lost.

Picking just one of the many terrible, cheesecake painted covers by Greg Horn from this awful, awful miniseries is difficult. That is, until you get to issue six - bypassing the one that riffs on Smallville for some reason, and the one with the lady in a tiny silver bikini in a taxi - where a naked woman has had part of Spider-Man's outfit painted onto her body for no reason.

Not only a thing Marvel thought it was okay to publish on a cover: something that the guy in charge of Marvel for the better part of a decade thought was a good idea. That explains SO MUCH.
