Volcano Bay was developed with a rich story featuring the Waturi people, a group of explorers from the Pacific Islands who travelled found a new home that would become Volcano Bay. At the centre is Krakatau, a Volcano and home to a spirit who will talk to you if you seek them out. The slides are named after creatures of the ocean and even contain a story of two star-crossed lovers Kala & Tai Nui.

The water theme park is filled with interactive elements and boasts that you won't have to stand in long hot lines thanks to TapuTapu. The wearable device gives you access into all the slides virtual lines, allowing you a chance to explore all the other fun things at Volcano Bay whilst you wait to ride.

If you are looking to relax on the beach, indulge in food or have thrilling time on the slides at the top Krakatau you can do it all.

We've taken the plunge and come up with 11 things we think will give you the perfect opportunity to have the best day at Universal's Volcano Bay.

11. Stay Onsite To Get In Early

Staying onsite at a Universal hotel is great if you are planning on spending a whole day at Volcano Bay.

Every hotel gives guests early access to the water theme park during their stay. All you have to do is show a valid room key and you can enter the park and start enjoying all the watery fun an hour earlier.

You don't need to take your car to Volcano Bay when staying onsite either. All hotels have easy park access with buses that run regularly. There's also a walking path that guests staying in Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Loews Royal Pacific Resort can use to get to Volcano Bay in less than 15 minutes. Universal's Aventura Hotel guests can be at the Volcano Bay entrance in less than 3 minutes by going through an exit in the pool area.

If you choose to stay at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort then you get an extra perk. Like Universal's Aventura Hotel, guests can get to Volcano Bay through a "secret" entrance with its own security, making it super easy to get to the park.
