8. The Vault Dwellers - Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout: New Vegas is a game filled with choices and decisions that can have huge impacts on a playthrough. However one that lives on in infamy involves the side mission, Hard Luck Blues. And yet, whilst it is regarded as one of the most morally-ambiguous decisions in the game, the vast majority of players will find themselves making the exact same decision.

This mission has you travel to Vault 34, having been told that radiation spilling out from the building is ruining the crops being grown in the surrounding area.

However, arriving at the Vault will reveal a number of trapped Dwellers inside. Players will then have to choose whether they shut down the vault's reactor, trapping the people, or set them free, but have the area contaminated for the remainder of the game.

Hard decision, right? Well... sort of.

In a trademark example of 'sacrificing the few for the many', most Fallout players tend to put the needs of the dozens of NPCs reliant on the crops ahead of the handful of Dwellers living inside Vault 34.
