10 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed

As much as Hollywood has begun taking video game adaptations more seriously in recent years, it looks like there isn't much hope for Eli Roth's long-gestating Borderlands movie.

Despite principal photography wrapping all the way back in June 2021, we've seen little more from the film than a few vague, silhouetted images of the main cast, and certainly not an actual trailer. Hell, not even a teaser.

It's immediately suspicious given that Lionsgate would surely want to show off their star ensemble cast - including Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Jamie Lee Curtis - at every opportunity. And yet, between the strange silence on the project, reshoots being conducted earlier this year following less-than-stellar test screenings, and Roth being replaced by Tim Miller (Deadpool) for reshoots due to "scheduling conflicts," it's all looking very fishy indeed.

With the film's release currently set for August 9, 2024 - over three years after it first wrapped - it'll be a supreme shock if it's actually any good.
