10 UFC Veterans That Challenge Their Age

Undoubtedly one of the UFC’s biggest fan favourites, Donald Cerrone has captured the hearts of fans with his entertaining style inside the Octagon, and relatable persona outside of it.

With stints in the lightweight and welterweight divisions, like Demian Maia, Cerrone has compiled a record with a who’s who of top MMA stars. Since signing for the promotion in 2011, Cowboy has beaten the likes of Charles Oliveira, Jeremy Stephens, Edson Barboza, Eddie Alvarez and Al Iaquinta.

Since losing a lightweight title fight to Rafael Dos Anjos, the 37-year-old has since shown his willingness to take the toughest fights on offer, even stepping into the Octagon to face Conor McGregor on his return earlier this year. With other losses to Anthony Pettis, Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, Leon Edwards, Darren Till, Robbie Lawler and Jorge Masvidal, the list of notable names the Denver-born kickboxer has stood opposite from is enough to create an essay.

After losing his last four fights, there’s been little word on where Cerrone’s next fight will come from. If the respected veteran doesn’t hang up his gloves, perhaps Gregor Gillespie awaits an opportunity against the former title contender, maybe Beneil Dariush will finally face a top contender after his knockout of Drakkar Klose, or possibly a step-up in class for the up and coming Drew Dober awaits.
