10 TV Show Scenes With INSANE Implications

8. Rhodey Is A Skrull - Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion was a wildly polarising show for many reasons, not least that it revealed that James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) was replaced by a Skrull agent.

When the imposter is killed and the real Rhodey is rescued at the ending of the show, he simply mentions that he was imprisoned by the Skrulls for a "long time."

Naturally this left fans to speculate on precisely how long Rhodey had been a Skrull, while the show's director Ali Selim later insinuated that he was most likely one since Captain America: Civil War.

This revelation caused major discontent among MCU fans because of its most disappointing suggestion, that the Rhodey who was with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) during his final moments in Avengers: Endgame was nothing more than a fake.

Knowing that Rhodey has been an imposter for so long significantly reshapes how audiences will view the events of Civil War and beyond.

Though to the same token, don't be surprised if a future MCU project - most likely Armor Wars - retcons/clarifies that Rhodey wasn't snatched until the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, even if only to appease pissed-off fans.
