1. Will Smith
What He Was Doing Ten Years Ago: Wrongly thinking he was the biggest star in the world. When Will Smith went into movies he was already a well known face thanks to the incredibly nineties Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. But he didnt capitalise on it nowhere near as well as he could have. Unlike other late nineties stars, he didnt have a major, career defining film; Brad Pitt had Fight Club, Leonardo DiCaprio had Titanic, Smith had Independence Day and Men In Black good, but not great. That didnt stop him crowing himself the biggest star in the world. Still, he was young and was a minor box office draw Id let him have it.
What Hes Doing Now: Wrongly thinking he is the biggest star in the world. Now its getting irritating. In an interview with Empire Magazine to promote After Earth, Smith said the following quote about his son Jadens childhood woes, Your fathers the biggest movie star in the world, youre in this extreme shadow. WHAT?! Im sorry, but how can anyone like such a self centred person who thinks a six year old plot neutering dystopian sci-fi (I Am Legend), a five year old character neutering superhero satire that forgot the satire (Hancock) and one of last years worst blockbusters, a franchise neutering mess that left laughs at the door (MIB 3) are the latest output of the worlds biggest movie star. Hopefully After Earth will prove that Smith isnt the immortal box office draw the media claims he is (or at least that Shyamalans poison outweighs it). He has (or is it had) the capability to be the worlds biggest star, but needs to actually do a bit more starring. Dont worry for him though he seems to doing a good job of living through his kids.
