9. Sylvester Stallone Was Never The Same After His Stone Cold Fight - The Expendables

In case you weren't aware at this point, the first Expendables flick was a pretty painful experience for its biggest star Sylvester Stallone.

When clashing with WWE legend 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin during the action flick, the Rocky star suffered a pretty serious neck injury; hairline fracture serious. He even ended up having a metal plate inserted into his neck after the very real on-set accident. But this wasn't simply a case of surgery solving all of Stallone's problems and being able to swiftly get on with the rest of his life.

As noted in his recent Sly documentary on Netflix (via Insider), Stallone doesn't feel that he ever truly recovered from that 'Stone Cold' brawl during the making of The Expendables, saying that it did "such a number on (his) body, (he's) never been the same. Never."

And Stallone has understandably found himself asking whether throwing his body into this sort of perilous situation for the sake of entertainment was really worth it. Barney Ross' showdown with the 'Texas Rattlesnake' changed Stallone's life forever, and likely altered the way he approached the action genre he'd long called home, too.
