10 Most Ridiculously Overpowered Superheroes In The Marvel Universe

8. Wolverine

How tall is Wolverine
Marvel Comics

Wolverine is great- he's a man who must fight his own animalistic side to keep from becoming like Sabretooth. He's so different from him in the fact that he understands human emotions and concepts like honor. Sadly, ever since he became the face of the X-Men, he's become increasingly less honorable, and far too involved in the workings of the overall Marvel universe.

He doesn't need to be in seven titles at a time, he doesn't belong in a leadership position and he sure as hell doesn't need to be as overpowered as he has been recently. He has a healing factor, super senses, and an adamantium skeleton with claws that can cut through anything. How is that overpowered? Well, just as was the case with Thor it isn't necessarily how many powers you have, but the levels those powers can reach.

On top of his immunity to disease and incredibly slow aging process, Wolverine's healing factor has been adulterated far beyond its original inception. He no longer simply heals from wounds but can regenerate just about anything. Let's look at a few examples. Wolverine has survived many explosions - including an atomic explosion - in which his skin was completely destroyed. Shouldn't it be unable to regenerate if it's, you know, gone? Though skin cells could presumably come to being from the other cells in his body, it's an incredible feat nonetheless.

Eventually, we were given a plot that told of a pact between Wolverine and Azrael, the angel of death. Whenever Wolverine would officially die he would battle Azrael and return to the land of the living if victorious. In this sense Wolverine was nearly immortal - even more so than his healing factor could allow him to be. Fortunately, this pact has since been nullified though we certainly can't count on Wolverine having to face actual death ever.

Wolverine is also depicted as being much stronger than other characters who have enhanced strength and endurance. Due to his bones being reinforced with their adamantium bonding he is able to lift multiple men at once and display other feats of incredible physical strength. Now that Wolverine has become the face of the X-Men - and a nice portion of Marvel itself - we can expect him to grow far stronger in ways outside of his original powers.
