10. Trapped in the Boss Arena - Wolfenstein Youngblood

Now in this new age of Bethesda published shooters, it’s a well-known fact that they don’t pull any punches. What with Doom being built on Rip and Tear along with every Nazi in Wolfenstein having the ability to put BJ down in a second.

So when 2019s Wolfenstein Youngblood was a forced co-op affair most assumed that this would at least make this stop-gap game somewhat easier to beat.

They were wrong.

This semi open-world shooter is still as punishing as the two main entries, but this time also has terrible checkpointing!

If both players die in a mission they would have to play the entire thing again from scratch, sometimes wasting a good hour. You’d like to think by now bad checkpointing is a thing of the past. Then there is the final boss, which has caused many to pack this one in altogether. Basically, unlike the rest of the game, players are locked in till they win, even if they die. Lowering the difficulty might help, but even then it is a slog.
