10 Hilariously Obvious Stunt Doubles Who Ruined Their Scenes
1. Star Trek: The Original Series
In the years since Star Trek: The Original Series was unceremoniously cancelled, some aspects of the show have become running jokes, like Kirk's unfeasible ability to woo every alien in the galaxy,as long as they looked like a human covered in poster paint, or his hilariously badly choreographed fight scenes.
But beyond all else, the biggest joke of TOS, was the frequency of stunt doubles appearing very obviously in any combat scene, without so much as a cursory attempt to hide their identities by the film crew. Countless doubles appear to have been used, and not one could claim to even remotely resemble their intended subject, which is why the image above, puporting to show James Kirk in battle, actually looks like a young Colm Meaney, in entirely the wrong Star Trek series.
And it wasn't just the Good Captain who was guilty of horribly obvious stunt double syndrome, as Leonard Nemoy clearly checked out when it was time to throw down, preferring to use a far shorter man, with a completely different hair colour
Well, at least they made his ears look sort of pointy. And then, there was Bones McCoy, played by ageing actor DeForest Kelley. So naturally, whenever he was required to fight a bit, he was replaced in the interest of personal safety... with a far, far younger actor, who looked like this...
