10 Even More Perfect 1970s Rock Albums With No Bad Songs
9. Tusk - Fleetwood Mac
Who's to say a band can't have more than one all-time classic album per decade?
Much like Fleetwood Mac's Rumours was featured in our previous 10 More Perfect Rock Albums Of The '70s With No Bad Songs, that album's follow-up Tusk is a flawless collection of songs from one of the greatest bands in music history.
One element that makes Tusk so notable, is in how it goes in a completely different direction to Rumours. With Lindsey Buckingham adamant that he didn't want to give Warner Bros. what would essentially be Rumours 2, he went erratic and experimental in ways not before seen by this iteration of the band.
The titular Tusk is a grand celebration of Buckingham's intent, with that track encapsulating sheer joy and mayhem. And that's a theme that runs through so much of this 1979 album, as songs like The Ledge, What Makes You Think You're the One, and Not That Funny manage to sound both unfinished yet perfect.
On the other side of things, there is still the familiar Fleetwood Mac warmth and sincerity with the stunning Stevie Nicks-penned Sara and Christine McVie's Over and Over.
Tusk very often feels like a group of individuals in their own respective grooves rather than a gathered collective, but that was at times part of what made Fleetwood Mac so great.
