10 Anticipated Video Games FINALLY Releasing In 2022

It's about time.

One thing that tends to make die-hard gamers fly into a rage is delays. When you're looking forward to playing the latest entry in your favourite franchise, it's heartbreaking when you learn it's been delayed by a year. Or two. Or three.

As frustrating as schedule interruptions are, they always have the same purpose:

Give developers more time to make the game as awesome as possible.

In the immortal words of Mario creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, 'A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.' (People who played Duke Nukem Forever disagree, but the man has a point.)

Nevertheless, we sometimes feel like a game is never going to come out when its release date gets pushed further and further into the future.

But we must be patient. Next year, many iconic titles that were trapped in development hell will see the light of day. In just a few months we'll be able to revisit Gotham, take control of the gun-toting Bayonetta and slash through deities as the god-slaying Kratos.

These are the much-delayed and anticipated games FINALLY coming in 2022.

10. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks Of Home

Having Super Mario wielding guns in a turn-based tactical game with the Raving Rabbids sounds like a recipe for disaster. Even though the Italian plumber is renowned for starring in eccentric spin-offs, a lot of people felt like Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle wasn't going to work.

And naysayers couldn't have been more wrong. This wacky RPG wasn't just a solid spin-off - it was a standout in 2017. It was so fun, inventive, and hilarious, fans needed a sequel. But since Nintendo were hush-hush about the future of this potential franchise, a lot of people assumed it was a one-off thing.

So, when it was revealed in the 2021 Nintendo Direct announcement that Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope was coming to the Switch in 2022, fans couldn't believe it.

Although it would be easy for Ubisoft to churn out more of the same, the development team promised the follow-up will have a new combat system. On top of that, the locations will expand far beyond the Mushroom Kingdom and will have a more diverse roster of playable characters.
